The Northeast region of Thailand, known as Isaan, is an area of unparalleled cultural, historical and geographical variety stretching from Saraburi in the West to the Lao and Cambodian borders in the east. Ben spent more than six months in Isaan in the late 1990s exploring some of the kingdom’s most forgotten provinces and traditions.
