I started taking photographs in the late 1980s and early 1990s with film cameras such as the Cannon EOS1, the Leica M6 and my favourite camera of all –the medium format Mamiya 6. In recent years, as the majority of photographers migrated to digital cameras, I chose a different route, acquiring a Linhof Technika 4 x 5 classic rangefinder to shoot large format black and white photographs.
For me, there is still something magical about using film. I love the texture of black and white film and the creative control that it gives me. Most of all, I enjoy the time I spend thinking about composition and the subjects I am photographing. It can take days or even weeks from the moment I press the shutter until the moment I see the printed image. But this long drawn out process is part of what makes each photograph unique. The original fine art prints that I offer here are hand made on silver gelatin fiber-based paper. Print sizes for all the black and white images shown on this website are 11 x 14 inches, 16 x 20 inches or 20 x 24 inches. Prices are available on request. Contact [email protected] |
